House Details

This historic property is found in the municipality of Casacanditella and was formerly used as a pasta factory.

The building is on 3 levels, in addition to an attic, basement, barn and warehouse. The surrounding land is about 11,000 square metres in size.

The property is located in the flat part of the municipality. It was built in 1900 entirely from stone and is one of the few examples of industrial archaeology that has come down to our times.

The building looks majestic and is structurally intact with a surface of over 600 square metres. It has original quality finishes around the numerous windows. On the left, external, side it is still possible to admire the water wheel used to produce electricity and the related power channel.

The building is composed as follows:

Basement – two underground rooms with evidence of graffiti left by the soldiers of the Wehrmacht dating back to the period of German occupation.

Ground floor – three large rooms formerly used for the sale of pasta, warehouse and engine room. Access to the lower rooms.

First and second floors – various rooms used for drying and storing the pasta produced.

Attic – Flexible and with light coloured wood.

The structure has an original freight elevator and numerous fireplaces for heating the property.

Included in the sale are a barn and warehouse. There is a large plot of land, adjacent to the building, which is almost entirely flat.

Unusual property with the potential for many uses.

Casacanditella is a small town that is 433 metres above sea level. It is situated on a hill between the rivers Foro and Dendalo. Although much of it was damaged during World War II, Casacanditella offers a beautiful view from the Adriatic Sea to the Miaella mountain both about 30 minutes away by car.

One of the town’s famous events if the ‘Festa del Pescatore’ or Fisherman’s Feast. It is held during the summer and there is plenty of trout, sea food, wine, music and dancing to be enjoyed.

The population of 1,307 is served by a pharmacy, butcher, two supermarkets and two restaurants. The larger towns of Fara Filorum Petri and Guardiagrele offer many more services and can be reached in 7 and 12 minutes, respectively.
